The Annular Eclipse of the Sun of Sunday May 20, 2012

TAAS has been contacted by numerous amateur astronomers from around the country. TAAS is planning to host these astronomers.
This event is being heavily promoted by numerous travel organizations and a large number of out of town visitors are expected.
In addition, once the local media begins to promote the event, it is expected that local public interest in the event will increase.
Included in the planning effort are the New Mexico Museum of Natural History, the Albuquerque Balloon Museum,
the Petroglyph National Monument, UNM, Bernalillo County, the city of Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau
and the Rio Rancho Astronomical Society.
Free solar viewing glasses will provided to visitors.

Van Buren Middle School photos
On May 8 TAAS sponsored a school party atVan Buren Middle School.
As TAAS Educational Outreach Coordinator, Roger Kennedy, put it:
Bad skies, cold, windy, so we did classroom and star lab activities for less than 70 people.
