ST-9E CCD Camera   The ST-9E CCD (Charge Coupled Device) Camera, made by SBIG, is a 512 by 512 pixel camera with a two stage cooling, althought only one stage is normally used.
 
A color wheel (not shown), with red, green, blue, and clear filters, allows color pictures to be taken.
 
Level 3 Training is required to operate this camera.
 
It takes great pictures!

 
ST-9E CCD Camera   Here the camera is attached to the Celestron 11" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with a f/6.3 focal reducer and a "T" adapter.  The reducer, adapter, and camera are screwed into each other for a nice snug fit.
 
Two cables are attached to the camera:
  • white - data and control
  • black - power cable
The third coiled black wire is for the motorized focuser.
 

 
ST-9E CCD Camera   This picture shows the camera is attached to the focuser of the Astrophysics 6" reflector.
 
Three cables are attached to the camera:
  • little white - autoguide
  • big white - data and control
