Main Dome

The Main Dome houses a 16-inch reflector telescope on the upper floor. On the ground floor is a Computer Room which contains much of the site's portable equipment, loaner scopes, computer systems, the battery bank, and a power inverter. The dome also supplies Wi-Fi coverage for the site.

Imaging Dome

The Imaging Dome houses the astrophotography equipment including a Celestron 14-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (SCT) with a HyperStar that is tied to a fully equipped control and processing system.

Robert O. Ortega Building

The Robert Ortega Building (also known as The ROOst) is used as a meeting room, bunkhouse, and remote operations area. The building is heated for those who plan to sleep the night in cold weather. Photovoltaic panels are mounted on the roof which supply power for the site.

La Cocina Galactica

The CocĂna is a heated fully equipped cafe with a stove, oven, and table. It is the place where observers retreat when they are cold in the winter or want a cup of coffee or some food. Many important discussions occur here while observers wait for the skies to clear on cloudy days.

Observing Field

The Observing Field provides a large flat area for observing including 22 concrete pads and two fixed piers.

Picnic Area

The Picnic Area provides several grills and table for cookouts.

Lecture Area

The Lecture Area provides benches in an amphitheater setup for lectures and other presentations. In this area is a memorial for George Pellegrino who was a leader in building GNTO.

The outhouse is located at the northeast corner of the site.

Parking Lot

The Parking Lot is on the north side of the site. It provides an area to park for those who are not transporting equipment to the Observing Field.
